Karen Smith Swansation Legacy Scholarship

Karen Smith, O. D. was a past student of St. Hugh’s High School who excelled in Music both nationally and internationally. She was affectionately known as the “Swansation songbird”. Karen was present wherever St. Hugh’s High School, or its alumnae associations across the globe, needed her to perform. She loved and serenaded South Florida audiences that looked forward to the St. Hugh’s Alumnae Association of South Florida’s annual Swansation Tea parties where she launched her “Rush” album in 2018. She made every single performance personal.

Karen passed away on September 11, 2021. Our Alumnae Association thought it fitting to establish a legacy scholarship to “build (her) name and spread (her) fame and honor good St. Hugh’s…” (words are taken from the St. Hugh’s High School song). The scholarship will be awarded to 5th form students pursuing the Arts, specifically in Music, at St. Hugh’s High School.

We urge you to support this scholarship today by making your contribution to Karen’s memory. No amount is too small. No amount is too great.
